We saw elephants when we were coming back from lunch today. There were four of them on the corner of Benton and St. Louis. They were being brushed and bathed. You never know what you might see in Springfield. What a town!!!
Oh my! How interesting. So glad you caught this shot. After reading Mel's blog, I keep hoping I might catch a glimpse of circus-dom on my way in to work here soon, but no cigar. Bet the elephants love the great weather!
I know it! I was at lunch with Edie when we saw this. I was so excited! We smelled them also and it reminded me of a story. I took my son to the circus when he was about 2 (to traumatize him like I was) and the only thing that he could talk about was how big elephant poop is. What a waste of money!
I went with friends and their kids to the circus last week (hadn't been since I was 7). We were in the front row and I was mesmerized at seeing the elephants that close up (and trying to keep the street corner animal-cruelty protesters out of my mind). I think what disturbed me most that night though was how little clothing all the performers were wearing? I felt like I was at a role-playing S&M show rather than a kiddie-show and it kind of freaked me out??? Maybe I'm just getting old and too conservative with age? LOL
